Dear Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Since the church began holding public worship services again last June, it has complied with the Governor’s health-related executive orders. This last week it was announced that the relevant orders will all be ending on June 2nd. Then another announcement was made late in the week that the mask mandate, effective immediately, no longer applied to people who had received the inoculation(s). As it is against the law (HIPAA) to ask people about healthcare matters, including which shots anyone has or hasn’t received, the mask mandate has effectively ended at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and will be officially over and done with on June 2nd. Those who continue to desire to wear masks at church are welcome to do so. Those who no longer desire to wear masks at church are welcome to enter without masks. We have made it this far without allowing the situation to cause division in the church. Let’s continue to respect each other’s choices on these matters. Sincerely, Pastor Hopman Dear Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church,
We have received word from a member of the congregation that the couple has tested positive for the novel Corona Virus. This couple attended the 11:00 AM service on Sunday, April 25th. The couple was tested in preparation for an upcoming medical procedure. Both members are still asymptomatic. This email is to notify the congregation of this circumstance. We are doing so immediately. I thank Molly King, the chair of our Reopening Task Force and its members for the protocols they have implemented in light of the pandemic. We are confident that these protocols help make our sanctuary a safe place for worship. In Christ, Pastor Hopman |
